Tee For Two.

Greetings!  I hope that everyone had a wonderful Labor Day weekend, if you live in the states, that is.  If you don’t live in the states I hope that you too had a wonderful weekend!  Our family enjoyed the three day  holiday weekend and beautiful weather!  Saturday morning Tom and I had a bit of a treat… some time without the kids.  My mom came over and played with the kids while Tom and I went thrifting and out to lunch… yay!  Did we have any luck?  A bit.  We found some pink Chuck Taylors for Abby and some Levi’s for the boys.  I picked up a few XXL t-shirts with plans to upcycle them into shirts for the boys this fall.  I was able to get one done before the weekend was through and I think I love it!

I used Figgy’s Tee For Two pattern for the first time.  I was inspired by one of my favorite bloggers and friends after seeing the shirts that she had made for her little boy.  You can see the post here.  It was easy to follow and turned out really well.  The fit was great, except for the neck hole.  Although it looks fine on, it was a real bear to get over Levi’s head… I almost couldn’t do it!  I think I must have done something wrong there, but hope that I can fix it next time around.  Take a look…

picture quality not so good… took it on my iphone

What do you think?  I used one old Beatles t-shirt for the body and another  for the sleeves and the neck.

Total cost… $2, I think.  Not bad!

I plan on making a whole lot of these for this boys this winter and fall.  I’ve got a great Darth Vader iron on just waiting to be used.  Luke’s got dibs on that one… he’s a bit obsessed at the moment.  Tom is very cool with that.  I’ve linked up with…

Thanks for stopping by today!  I’ll have some Labor Day pics for you tomorrow (if you’re interested).  Have a great day!

Hey cute! Thanks for the linkup too :P
And I should have added to my post…I ended up making the head hole bigger too!!! I just clip about 1/4″ around the whole thing and add a couple inches to the neckband and that really does it for me. Maybe try it next time?

I had trouble with the neck hole too. I think it runs a little small on the pattern, but otherwise I love these shirts.
