Mod Podge Rocks! Book Review and Giveaway.

Have you entered the world of Mod Podge?  Have you?  It took me awhile to dip my toes in, but I’m loving it!  My first project was the Mod Podge Letter project last August.  I quickly realized that this was the tip of the iceberg of what you can do with Mod Podge.

I met Amy Anderson at a sewing workshop in Atlanta a couple of summers ago and instantly loved her funky style.  It has been a pleasure to get to know her better over the last two years, and I was so excited to get the chance to review her new book, Mod Podge Rocks!  Decoupage Your World.  Amy is the the woman behind THE best decoupage blog ever, by the same name, Mod Podge Rocks.

The first couple of pages of Mod Podge Rocks! are a “primer”.  Not having tried all of the different types of Mod Podge that are out there, I find this section very helpful, and I love that she included it in the book.  It tells about all the different types of Mod Podge and what they do as well as other tools and materials that you will need to complete the 40 fun filled projects in the pages that follow.

The Book is divided into three sections:
  1. Wearables
  2. Home Decor
  3. Holiday

You will not have any problem finding a few that you’ll be dying to make.  Here are a few of my favorites from the book.

Girl About Town Bike Helmet
Oh my goodness I love this!  I never ever would have thought to decoupage my bicycle helmet… what a great idea?  Who doesn’t want to look cute on their bike?  It beats my ugly helmet.

Be A Deer Suitcase

Adorable!!  Can’t you just see yourself carrying this little “deer” of a suitcase?  It couldn’t be cuter!

Children’s Art Charm Bracelet

Dimensional Magic Mod Podge is my new favorite kind to use.  It’s used to make the charm bracelet pictured below, customized with your children’s artwork.  I need to make one of these!

Each project in Mod Podge Rocks is accompanied by clear step by step instructions and bright, colorful photographs, for those of us who need a visual.

Amy has done such a wonderful job with this book.  It’s a must have for crafters like us, and this is your chance to win a copy of your very own!  Amy sent me a copy to giveaway to one of you!  Just use the Rafflecopter entry system below to enter.  The winner will be contacted by email.  And don’t forget to enter the Fat Quarter Shop fabric bundle giveaway here… it’s perfect for some of the projects in the book!  If you just can’t wait to have a copy of Mod Podge Rocks for your craft book collection you can buy it here.  Good luck!!! I’ve used Mod Podge a few times. . .mostly just to cover my sketchbooks in college. The bike helmet idea is sort of speaking to me. . .but I might get nasty glares from my husband & the girls (who gave it to me for Mother’s Day) might not aprove. However, if I were to let them help, they’d be behind the idea 500%. . .

  17. Amanda says:

I have used Mod Podge several times, but my fave still has to be adding glitter to my daughter’s shoes. So far we have done orange ones and green ones, I would love to do more with it though and the bike helmet looks like an excellent project.
