There has been a lot of transition happening in our little family.
Abby got braces last month, and boy, has that been a tough transition for her and her little mouth. It can be hard to adjust to something like that, and it’s hard to be the only kid in the 4th grade with braces. The start of the school year comes with it’s own set of challenges apart from braces… new class, new teacher, tougher schoolwork, new friends. It can be a lot!
Luke just started kindergarten and is learning how to follow classroom rules and stay on task. He has more responsibility now and a long week at school. There’s not as much free time during the day and he misses being at home with me most days.
Levi is learning how to play without his big brother and best buddy at home all day long, and that can be hard for a three year old. I’m getting to see how he acts and reacts when we are alone (which didn’t happen very often up until now).
With each passing year, I am seeing more and more what special talents and qualities God has given my children. It’s an adventure in learning for me! So many times as parents we unknowingly assume that our children will be a lot like us, and I think that this is one of the biggest mistakes we make. I am guilty of it, but I’m learning to accept each child as a unique individual with unique needs. Children need to be accepted as they are, quirks and all, just like we long to… just the way that God loves us!
U-Neeks from Dayspring are a new line of plush characters that are just as special as your own little characters! Not only are they fun, but they are tools that parents can use to encourage their children in their unique personalities and abilities, and they come with their own set of cards too!
U-Neeks from Dayspring are so soft and cuddly! My kids were drawn to them instantly. It was fun to watch them open them and decide (okay, let’s be honest… fight about) who got which one. I was surprised to see who ended up with who, and boy do they love them. They sleep with them every night. Each U-Neek character comes with a little bio: their favorite verse, their talent, their likes and dislikes. We had so much fun talking about them together. I used them as a springboard for the kids to talk about what those verses meant to them and what each of them thought were their own unique traits. Have I ever told you that Luke likes to beatbox??? And he’s good at it too! It’s so important to validate our children’s uniqueness, especially in times of change and transition. Knowing that you love them no matter what is what will get them through with flying colors!
There is a whole line of greeting cards for kids and teens that go along with the characters. Wouldn’t it be fun to stick one in your child’s backpack for them to find at school? It will make their day to know that you are thinking of them and loving them just as they are!
Today Dayspring is giving away an entire set of these fun plush characters to one of you!
Not only will you get Mustachio, Splat, Alliebird, and Dweeber… you’ll also get a set of greeting cards to encourage someone with! Thank you, Dayspring!
